A true luxury hotel, intimate, tranquil, family-friendly, and casino-free – An oasis of serenity and refinement amid the sparkle and excitement of Las Vegas, this deluxe hotel is on the 2008 Conde Nast Traveler "Gold List" and Travel + Leisure "T+L 500." Use the facilities at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, which is housed in the same towering building.

Accommodations: Retreat to your classic contemporary room or suite with a Las Vegas Strip, desert, mountain, or valley view, floor-to-ceiling windows, a king-size bed or 2 double beds, plasma screen TV, a coffee/tea maker, a refrigerated private bar, a complimentary newspaper, a DVD player, a CD player, a clock radio, an in-room safe, thick terry bathrobes, an iron and an ironing board, a hairdryer, and twice daily housekeeping services. TIP: Book odd-numbered rooms in the -101 to -135 series and even-numbered rooms in the -212 and -226 series for great views of the Strip and the sunrise. The Presidential Suite has a baby grand piano. TIP: Let the hotel know in advance that you are traveling with a baby, a small child, or a teenager, and special amenities will be provided.

Dining & Entertainment: An informal dining experience, either on the outdoor terrace or indoor room, is on the menu at Verandah, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea, and weekend brunch. Expect a mix of American dishes with contemporary Italian influences. You can create your own entree from the Dining My Way section of the dinner menu. The Anytime menu features traditional favorites such as the club sandwich and chicken wings. Understated and clubby, Charlie Palmer Steak offers an innovative twist on a steakhouse, preparing artisan aged beef with, for example, seafood. Be sure to try the popular potato side dishes. For light appetizers and specialty cocktails throughout the day, stop by the Verandah Bar and Lounge. The Pool Bar serves drinks, salads, sandwiches, and cold desserts. Room service is available 24 hours and can pack a picnic basket for you.

Recreation: Take a few turns around the outdoor pool, sunbathe in a comfortable chaise lounge on the expansive deck, and relax in 2 whirlpools. TIP: Ask the hotel for a disposal swimsuit if you forgot to bring your own. The fitness center has treadmills, bicycles, weights, and more. Each cardiovascular machine has a personal TV and headphones. Spa treatments seek to hydrate your skin, promote anti-aging, and elevate the art of relaxation. Visit the Zen lounge and eucalyptus steam room. Golf and tennis are nearby.
