Itinerary:

Day #1 Charleston. Arrive in Charleston and pick up your rental car at the airport. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. Take some time to explore this historic city located on the confluence of the Ashley and Cooper Rivers. This evening, discover some of the city’s fabulous restaurants. Charleston has everything from local Lowcountry cuisine to top European fare, and it has claimed its place among the nation’s best culinary destinations.
Day #2 Charleston. A full day to explore all the wonderful things Charleston has to offer. Enjoy a horse-drawn carriage around the city; visit historic Fort Sumter, where the American Civil War began; or shop for souvenirs at the Old City Market. You may wish to journey to one of the nearby plantations and learn about life on these great estates, or head to an area beach for a little fun in the sand. Your Local Host will have additional suggestions on how to spend your time.
Day #3 Charleston–Savannah. This morning, you may want to stop in the unique Southern town of Beaufort. Take in the beauty of the majestic live oak trees draped in the Spanish moss and feel the history of the many preserved homes, churches, and cemeteries. Continue to the enchanting city of Savannah for a 2-night stay. Approximately 108 miles/173 km.
Day #4 Savannah. Savannah has much to offer all visitors. Explore Savannah’s tree-filled squares and historic buildings, sample fresh pralines as they are being made, or ride the River Street trolley. Take a ghost tour, visit the oldest art museum in the South, relax on a riverboat cruise, or enjoy dinner at a former pirate meeting place. You may wish to venture out to nearby Tybee Island, take a dolphin tour, or just stroll the miles of sandy beaches.
Day #5 Savannah–Jekyll Island. Today, journey to Jekyll Island, once the playground for the rich and famous at the turn of the 20th century. You may want to take a trolley tour of the Club Historic District, a cluster of 19th-century mansions and home to some of America’s prominent families, such as the Morgans, Rockefellers, and Vanderbilts. Approximately 91 miles/146 km.
Day #6 Jekyll Island. A full day to explore this fascinating island. Play a round of golf, take a sea turtle walk, enjoy high tea, or explore the more than 20 miles of paved biking trails on the island. You may also want to savor some of the island’s fresh seafood or enjoy a romantic dinner on the water.
Day #7 Jekyll Island–Jacksonville. Travel to Jacksonville and return your car to Jacksonville International Airport. Approximately 72 miles/115 km.
