Itinerary:
Day #1 Vancouver. Arrive in Vancouver, where the remainder of the day is at your leisure. Perhaps take a leisurely stroll or start exploring this cosmopolitan city.
Day #2 Vancouver. Enjoy the best of Vancouver in a turn-of-the-century-style trolley. Your 1-day included hop-on/hop-off SIGHTSEEING TOUR is your transportation line to Vancouver’s major attractions, famous park, gardens, shopping areas, and restaurants. You can enjoy Vancouver’s attractions at your own pace or you may choose to simply enjoy a quick and informative city tour. See downtown, Stanley Park, Chinatown, Gastown, Granville Island, and more!
Day #3 Vancouver–Rocky Mountaineer–Kamloops. Board the ROCKY MOUNTAINEER for a 2-day, all-daylight, classic rail journey from the Pacific Coast to the Canadian Rockies. Travel through the fertile Fraser Valley and Fraser Canyon. Upon arrival in Kamloops, transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. (B,L)NOTE:For your convenience, baggage that will not be needed during the train journey will be checked through to the Banff train station. Checked baggage will not be accessible during the journey. Plan to pack an overnight case with necessities for the train portion of the vacation, including medications, eyeglasses, and other important items (for those who upgrade to SilverLeaf and GoldLeaf Service, your luggage will be delivered to the Kamloops hotel).
Day #4 Kamloops–Rocky Mountaineer–Yoho National Park–Spiral Tunnels–Banff. Transfer to Kamloops rail station to re-board your train. Today’s highlights include stunning Shuswap Lake with its many miles of shoreline along with the Monashee Mountains and Glacier National Park. Travel through the heart of the Selkirk Mountains before entering spectacular Yoho National Park. The train winds through the Spiral Tunnels before climbing Kicking Horse Pass. Cross the Continental Divide into the Province of Alberta to Banff, “Canada’s Highest Town.” (B,L)
Day #5 Banff. Enjoy a guided SIGHTSEEING TOUR of the area that includes a visit to Lake Louise, Castle Mountain, and Moraine Lake. Afterward, there is plenty of free time for you to explore on your own.
Day #6 Banff–Calgary. Take a morning scheduled TRANSFER to the Calgary International Airport. Transfer time from Banff to Calgary is approximately 1.5 hours. Please book your flight accordingly.
