Itinerary:

Day #1 Albuquerque. Arrive in Albuquerque. The remainder of the day is at leisure to start exploring this modern city with ancient roots.
Day #2 Albuquerque. A full day to explore the sights of Albuquerque. Step back in time in Historic Old Town and its plaza, ride the tram to the top of Sandia Peak, learn about the native culture at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, sip wines at the area’s local vineyards, or see the vintage neon signs along Route 66. Your Local Host will have suggestions for additional sightseeing, shopping, and dining.
Day #3 Albuquerque–Durango. Travel through northern New Mexico and into Southern Colorado. Arrive in the western town of Durango located in the San Juan Mountains. Tonight, why not take a stroll down historic Main Street and savor a meal at one of the many cafés and restaurants? Approximately 215 miles/346 km.
Day #4 Durango. Enjoy a full day to explore Durango and the area. Climb aboard the historic Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, see the spectacular ancient cliff dwellings at nearby Mesa Verde National Park, or browse the town’s many art galleries. The more adventurous may want to try hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, rafting, or a 4-wheel-drive excursion.
Day #5 Durango–Santa Fe. Wind your way through the breathtaking scenery of the Rocky Mountains as you return to New Mexico. Spend the next two nights in Santa Fe, steeped in a rich history and famous for its unique shopping, Southwestern cuisine, art galleries, and outdoor activities. Approximately 215 miles/346 km.
Day #6 Santa Fe. A full day to explore all the wonders of Santa Fe. Join in a Southwestern cooking class, shop for souvenirs on the square, or relax at one of the town’s world-class spas. You may want to travel to nearby Taos or Bandelier National Monument, join in a walking tour, or visit the world-famous Georgia O’Keefe Museum and learn how she was inspired by the natural beauty of this area.
Day #7 Santa Fe–Albuquerque. Return to Albuquerque and drop off your rental car prior to departure. Approximately 70 miles/112 km
