Accommodations: All the basic amenities are covered, and all suites feature air-conditioning, plasma-screen TVs with satellite channels, DVD players, internet access, desks, walk-in closets, in-suite safes, espresso machines, 100% cotton linens, and butler service. Baths feature exquisite tiling, tubs and showers, Elemis bath amenities, plush robes, and slippers. There are 12 categories of suites in all, many of which offer private balconies or terraces. Some include in-suite Jacuzzis. And some have direct beach access. The 2-bedroom Island Suites are the most luxurious, each set on its own private island and equipped with 3 private pools, 4 terraces, and a Jacuzzi.
Dining & Entertainment: David Crockett is the signature restaurant, and Argentinean-style grill specializing in prime cuts of beef and pork cooked over a brick, wood-charcoal burning oven, with sausages, yucca mash, baked potatoes, and salmon provide side dishes and alternatives; David Crockett is open for lunch and dinner. The Blue Marlin is a casual spot serving fresh seafood. Le Divellec Paris is another seafood restaurant, showcasing the expertly crafted cuisine of French chef Jacques Le Divellec. Sushi, Japanese, and Thai cuisine are on the menu at WOK. Capriccio serves Italian fusion. Open all day long, Casabella offers international fare. Natura is the spa’s healthy snack and smoothie bar. There’s also a VIP lounge serving international tapas. All restaurants have bars as well, and in addition, drinks are poured at Churchill’s Tobacco and Rum Bar (also serving fine Dominican cigars), the Love piano bar, and at the Frescho pool bar. Room service is available 24 hours.
Recreation: A stunning achievement in design, almost all the holes on the Jack Nicklaus course play to or on the coastline. And 2 more Nicklaus-designed courses are in the works. Deep muscles massages, aromatherapy, saunas, Jacuzzis, and more nourish every inch of the body and mind at the spa, with also has a fitness center. There’s a private beach club set on 2 miles of white sand. The oceanfront pool is surrounded with chaise lounges and umbrellas.
