Every night there’s a torch-lighting ceremony, and the King’s Jubilee, with a procession, Polynesian dance and music, plus beachfront fireworks, takes place weekly.

Recreation: The resort has 5 pools, including a big lagoon-style pool. Spend your days catamaran sailing, playing miniature golf, and even taking submarine rides! Fitness classes, wildlife tours, and snorkeling lessons are complimentary. TIP: Space is limited at the kids’ club and reservations are required, so be sure to plan ahead. An on-site branch of the Bishop Museum has exhibits about Hawaiian culture, and there are about 100 shops and boutiques on the property as well.

Spa & Health Center: The renowned Mandara Spa provides relaxation, healing, and beauty treatments from around the world. A visit to the innovative Holistica Hawaii, a medically based health center, is also worth your while.
